The Serpent of Light

The Serpent of Light: Chapter 4

The Nakkal Pyramid

Written by Drunvalo Melchizedek

I woke up one morning in 1985 high up in the dry New Mexico desert, about 8,500 feet above sea level. The gray-green sagebrush expanded over the horizon in all directions like a vast ocean, except to the east where the awesome Sangre de Cristo (the Blood of Christ) Mountains stretched to the sky. The snow still lingering on the peaks on this early summer day was not unusual. Sometimes the snow would not leave these mountains all year long. to the west, hidden from view, lay the deep canyon of the Rio Grande River, secretly winding its way through this part of the sesert where hardly any human beings have ever been. To the north, twenty miles from my home, stood the second largest freestanding mountain in the world, Ute Mountain.

It was on Ute Mountain that the U.S. government was dishing out to them, the Ute were considered dangerous and needed to be destroyed.

The cavalry chased the Ute for hundreds of miles until they reached Ute Mountain, which was named much later in their honor. The Ute and the cavalry knew there was no water on Ute Mountain, but in desperation the Ute climbed the mountain to hide. The cavalry circled the mountain and waited, believing that no water, if the Utes were up there, they would have to come down.

As the story goes, the Ute prayed to Mother Earth to give them water, for they knew that without it they would either die on the mountain or be forced to go down where the cavalry would kill them all – men, women, and children. They would become extinct.

And Mother Earth, who was living in the hearts of the Ute, responded. A spring of water gushed from the mountain, nourishing their bodies and saving their lives.

About three months later, the U.S. Cavalry decided that the Ute must not have climbed up the mountain in the first place and abandoned their search. The Ute are alive today because of this mountain and its miracle, the energy of which pervaded the entire valley where I was living in 1985.

I lay there thinking that something seemed different or special this morning, but had no reason to say why. The feeling stayed with me all day.

I was part of a group of men and women running an esoteric school called ‘the Nakkal Mystery School’. The name came from the angels, who never really told us the reason for it. I knew the Nakkals were the ancient priesthood from Atlantis, but other than that I had no idea. I simply accepted the name because of the suggestion from a higher source.

Our compound rested on roughly twenty acres with literally millions of uninhabited acres surrounding us. We had two adobe houses, a natural garden, a small apartment space, a work area and garage, a very beautiful adobe conference center with twenty-five-foot high ceilings and built in the shape of a pentagon, and, most important, a beautiful underground prayer room called a kiva. The school was perfect for teaching and learning.

Being completely isolated from civilization made our job much easier, as there was no one around to judge our work or actions, which would have seemed strange to some of our present-day culture. For example, every new moon we would hold a Native American sweat lodge with an enormous fire to heat the rocks. About forty people would fast from food for at least one day before the sweat, and we would drum and chant for hours, calling on the name of the Mother and the presence of Great Spirit, moving into our hearts and waiting for the rocks to become red-orange with life.

When the moment was right, we would enter into the underground kiva in complete darkness, with humility and without clothes, as was the native tradition, and with absolute sacredness to be with the Mother. It was like being in her womb. Prana, void, earth, water, fire, air – all six elements of creation and nature were present at once in this ceremony.

That afternoon I heard someone yell out a robust “Wow!” and I  found myself running to see what it was. The sun was going down in another thirty minutes perhaps, and it was softly raining up against the mountains directly to the east.

The “wow!” was apparent. Framing the Sangre de Cristo Mountain was the most incredible rainbow I have ever seen in my life – ever. There was not one rainbow, but three – on rainbow inside another rainbow inside another rainbow. Brilliant, brilliant colors vibrated like they were electrically charged. I was speechless.

As I stood watching this miracle, the same feeling came over me that I felt when I woke up that morning. Somehow this day was special. But nothing showed itself as different than that of any other day except this amazing rainbow. Nevertheless, the feeling would not go away.

The very next morning a white, unmarked van pulled into our conference center. Since we were hidden from the public and so remote, it was unusual for anyone to find us when there wasn’t a workshop taking place.

A group of four young men in their thirties piled out of the van and walked straight to the conference room where I stood in a small side kitchen making breakfast. One of them opened the door, looked in at me, and asked, “Do you know where we can find a man named Drunvalo?”

I told him who I was, and he got right to the point. “Have you ever seen this design before?” He held up a drawing of the Flower of Life. The nineteen circles were as familiar to me as my own hand.

I had first discovered this design on a 6,000-year-old Egyptian wall and since then had found it all over the world, in India, England, Ireland, Turkey, Israel, Poland, Switzerland, Greece, China, Japan, Mexico, and in about fifty other countries, almost always in ancient places. And we are still finding it in new countries each year. But most significantly to this story, as you will see, I had also found it in Tibet.

Since I had been teaching about this design since 1984, these men had found out about me and wanted to know what it meant.

I asked them, at this point, why they were so interested in the Flower of Life. They all sat down around me and began to tell me a long, long story of the discovery of a very unusual pyramid in Tibet that their exploration team had discovered a few months before. What they had to say was prodigious.

It’s been so long that I have forgotten their names, but the one that seemed to be their leader or spokesman became excited and began to speak with authority. He pulled out maps and photographs and laid them all over the tabletop, flattened them out and looked me in my eyes.

He told me about the first exploration team that tried to reach this Tibetan pyramid, but spoke about how they just were not prepared for the trek. It took six months to reach this pyramid, which was high up in the western Himalayan mountains. There were no clear maps, as hardly anyone had ever been in that area, and they had underestimated how long it would take to reach this spot.

To further complicate matters, this pyramid was all white and was covered with snow for the entire year except for about two to three weeks, so a team would have to perfectly time their arrival in order to actually be able to fine and hopefully to enter the structure.

He said that the first team made it all the way to the edge of the mountains where they could look down at this magnificent pyramid in the valley below, but were unable to continue or the whole team would have died. They simply did not have enough supplies for the extra time and were forced to return. This was, I believe, in the early 1980s. But only a few years later these men sitting around my table had tried on more time.

This time they were better prepared and had arrived at this Tibetan pyramid just as it was completely exposed for their exploration. They were amazed to find that, unlike the Great Pyramid in Egypt, it was not sealed. It had a single opening that allowed the team to enter unobstructed.

Over the next two days, they told me their story of finding the pyramid, which they called the Great White Pyramid. They explained how it appeared and how there were no markings, writing, hieroglyphs, or anything whatsoever on the surface or walls of the pyramid, inside or outside, except a single primary image high up on a central wall inside the main room. It was the image of the Flower of Life. This was why they had searched for me and found me in the middle of an isolated desert.

They wanted me to speak about what the Flower of Life meant. They were hoping I would lead them to whoever built this pyramid, for they had no idea.

I could not explain what the Flower of Life “really meant” in an hour or two. This is why they stayed two days. It is the creation pattern for the entire universe and everything in it, including all living creatures. It’s even the creation pattern for aspects of the universe that are not considered things or matter, such as emotions and feelings. But I did my best, giving them a mini Flower of Life workshop, minus all the ceremonies, prayer circles, meandering stories, and, of course, the Native American sweat lodge.

These men talked about their incredible luck of being the first human beings to actually touch this unusual pyramid. They said that no other pyramid was known to exist anywhere near this one, which was completely isolated in an inaccessible region of the Himalayan mountains. They kept talking about how strange it was for such a pyramid to be located where no civilization has ever been.

The feeling form the day before of something special occurring had not left me. I knew this information was significant, but really, I didn’t know at that time how significant.

When they left the Nakkal Mystery School, filled with excitement, the photographs they had showed me of this amazing pyramid kept coming back to me over and over again. I could almost taste why this was important, but still, nothing would come to my mind.

Finally, a couple of days later, I was in meditation, and the two angels appeared in my inner vision and said, “This pyramid is called the Nakkal Pyramid. We know you don’t understand now, but in time, you will. In the future, all will be revealed to you.”

But why the “Nakkal Pyramid”? And why the Nakkal Mystery School? At that time all I knew was that the Nakkals were high priesthood from Atlantis. I didn’t know they had anything to do with Tibet.

There was so much I didn’t know. But I trusted the angels and kept them in my heart. When they would speak to me, I always felt like a little child trying to understand the world around me, sometimes bewildered, sometimes excited, but mostly amazed by life and how the angels so gently introduced knowledge to my simple understanding.

In time the Nakkal Mystery School was disbanded, as all such schools are, but the memory of this exploration team and the pyramid they found would not leave me. And in time, the angels did tell me the entire history, which I will share with you as we continue.

The Serpent of Light had now left its home, the Nakkal Pyramid, and was moving freely to find a new home and eventually a new pyramid, and the Unity Consciousness Grid above the Earth was growing close to completion. By 1989-1990, four years after I first learned of the pyramid, the grid had grown to its first level of Unity, but the Serpent of Light would still be searching for its place in the Earth, appearing out of phase with the Cosmic DNA.

But one must always remember, Life is perfect.
